The first week of NFL free agency is basically in the books. The Arizona Cardinals have been active, although they have not made any real significant moves like last offseason. It is time to start grading their initial moves.

We don’t know how they will actually work out, as the season is still months away, but based on need, fit and value, we can give initial grades.

Let’s look at receiver Kendrick Bourne.

Grade: C

Bourne is a decent rotational receiver. He gets a two-year deal worth nearly $10 million. The Cardinals were the only bidders.

He can block. He can catch passes. Last season, he had 37 receptions for 551 yards for the San Francisco 49ers.

He is a solid No. 3 receiver. He has had as many as 800 yards in a season, and he wants to be here.

But does he do much to improve the team? Maybe some. He is a nice addition but that’s about it. At least he is excited to be here.
