Breathe a sigh of relief, NFC West. At least for now.

Having been rumored to be in pursuit of A.J. Brown, the Los Angeles Rams will not be landing the All-Pro receiver at this time.

To summarize the reports:

To summarize the situation:

However, where there’s smoke, there’s either a fire or an agent with an agenda, and this one’s got more than a little smoke.

From a talent perspective, the Rams with Brown would immediately become an unpleasant thought.

But we can all admit this is pretty weird, right?

A.J. Brown and Puka Nacua would be the most explosive receiver tandem in the league, bar none, over the past decade. They’re also both a little nuts.

Brown is five years younger than Davante Adams, who they’d presumably have to deal or release. Receiver was not a problem for Los Angeles last year, and it never has been for Sean McVay, so to throw a bunch at the Eagles to bring back a player who could spend the season competing with Nacua for Weirdest Wideout every week.

I buy that they’re looking, but I don’t get it.

Regardless, if words are to be believed, Seattle fans can either breathe a sigh of relief or a sigh of regret that an absolute circus is not coming to a town near you.
