The Badgers are in the NCAA tournament for the 29th time. Not including 2020, when the tournament was canceled because of COVID, Wisconsin has only missed the tournament twice since 1999.
The Badgers’ backcourt of Nick Boyd and John Blackwell is as good as any in the country.
It’s a very simple equation for Wisconsin. When they shoot three’s well, they can beat anyone. If they don’t, anyone can give them problems.
If both the Badgers and fourth-seeded Arkansas win their first round games, they would meet on Saturday. Greg Gard against John Calipari. That would be fun. I’m not a scout, but Darius Acuff Jr. of the Razorbacks is really good.
The Green Bay women are a 13 seed in the Sacramento Regional 2. They will play fourth-seeded Minnesota Friday in Minneapolis.
The 25-8 Phoenix won both the Horizon League regular season and tournament championships. They’re in their 21st NCAA tournament and third in a row.
