The Seattle Seahawks select Miami defensive lineman Akheem Mesidor with the No. 32 overall pick in CBS Sports’ latest three-round mock draft.

Mesidor was named a second-team All-American by The Sporting News in 2025. The 24-year-old led the ACC in sacks last season with 12.5. He also went for 17.5 tackles for loss on the year. Mesidor is widely projected to be a first-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft class.

According to CBS Sports’ Josh Edwards, the Seahawks take Mesidor with the No. 32 overall pick in the first round.

”Akheem Mesidor is an older prospect who’ll be able to help the defending Super Bowl champions immediately,” Edwards said. “They allowed Boye Mafe to depart in free agency, but depth remains a strength in their efforts to repeat.”

The Seahawks have leaned on the strength of their defense for the better part of the last 15 years. Seattle’s defense rose to the occasion at the end of last season, as Derick Hall helped the Seahawks sack New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye six times in Super Bowl LX. The Seahawks’ defense helped Seattle defeat the Patriots by a score of 29-13 to win their first Vince Lombardi Trophy since 2014.
