The Atlanta Falcons bolstered its defensive front as the team announced that it has signed former Alabama defensive lineman Da’Shawn Hand to a one-year $3 million deal.

Hand joins Atlanta after spending the 2025 season with the Los Angeles Chargers where he appeared in 13 games recording 29 total tackles, five tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, four pass deflections and an interception.

Originally a fourth round selection by the Detroit Lions in the 2018 NFL Draft, Hand played the first four seasons of his career with the Detroit before stints with the Tennessee Titans, Miami Dolphins and Chargers.

Prior to his days in the NFL, Hand was a five-star recruit at Alabama in the class of 2014 and would play under Nick Saban until 2017. Throughout his career, Hand was a part of several elite defenses and helped play a role in the 2015 and 2017 national championship runs. He finished his career with the Crimson Tide recognized as a two time All-SEC second teamer.
