New England made a couple modest moves, or, you know, somewhat aggressive moves last week getting Romeo Doubs, and, they got pass rusher Dre’Mont Jones.
And they might not be done ’cause of the A.J.
Brown situation.
It really makes the most sense for him to go to New England if he’s gonna be traded.
Some other teams have kind of poked around on it.
You have, the Los Angeles Rams inquired about it, but they realized, you know, Davante Adams’ still the best fit for them, and he had some guaranteed money that just locked in, so it looks like it’s gonna be Puka and Davante Adams instead of Puka and A.J.

Brown.
but with New England, they, they still feel like they have one more piece.
Mike Vrabel loves A.J.
Brown, A.J.
Brown loves Mike Vrabel.
it makes a lot of sense from that standpoint i- if they can get the draft compensation to work.
Philly has asked for a lot, a first-round pick and more, possibly a first-round pick and a day two pick.
Part of the reason why they’ve asked for that is because it’s such a salary cap challenge to get out of A.J.
‘s deal if they trade him right now, as opposed to trading him in, like, June.
So, you know, they tried to offset that by getting a hefty haul, and it just hasn’t happened yet.

You mentioned Davante there quickly.
I wanna go back to that for a second.
H- What, what’s his reaction going to be to now finding out that he was essentially being shopped, for somebody that does love loyalty?
You know, I, I, I don’t know that he was being shopped per se.
I think it was more like we know Davante Adams is a great fit.
He’s got one more year left on his deal.
A.J.
Brown has multiple years left, and he’s a little younger, and he would be a good fit as well.
So I think they just explored it.
Maybe there was a wacky world where GM Les Snead could have fit Davante Adams, Puka Nacua, and A.J.

Brown in the same roster.
That seemed unlikely.
Especially with Puka, you have to pay him.
He’s a year from free agency.
I assume they’re gonna try to work that out, and it’s gonna be a massive number.
So they had some challenges with all that.
so if, I think if they were to do the A.J.
Brown deal, it would, they would have had to part with Davante, but Davante was so good last year.
I, I don’t think they, at the end of the day, were eager to move on from Davante by any stretch.
they thought he was awesome.
It was really more just like a math equation with the age and the money and the contract and all those things, a- and, you know, A.J.

Brown would have been a fit just like Davante is.
But, I think i- if, if they had to pick between the two right now, I, I still think they might pick Davante, honestly, just ’cause of how good he was last year.
