As always, the Pittsburgh Steelers are well-represented at the Georgia Bulldogs’ Pro Day Wednesday. That includes new head coach Mike McCarthy making the trip for his first known Pro Day stop of the 2026 draft cycle. Per Dawgs HQ’s Rusty Mansell, McCarthy was spotted on the practice field this morning.

It’s not immediately clear if GM Omar Khan is with him, but that seems likely. Other Steelers personnel likely made the trip, and we’ll update this post when that is confirmed.

UPDATE (11:54 AM): Omar Khan is at Georgia.

Georgia has plenty of marquee prospects worth watching. The school’s top prospect is offensive tackle Monroe Freeling. A swing tackle turned 2025 starting left tackle, he’s one of the top offensive linemen in this year’s draft and has a chance to be the first among his position to be selected. With great size and length at over 6-7 and 34.75-inch arms, he displays great play strength and power in the run game. A good athlete and capable puller, he toughed out a 2025 ankle injury despite some of his coaches advising him against playing.

Our scouting report suggested Freeling is best suited to kick inside to guard and compared him to Andrus Peat. Still, tackle-needy teams will value him on the blindside. The Cleveland Browns could have interest at No. 6 and Freeling is, at worst, a mid-first round pick.

CJ Allen is one of the draft’s top off-ball linebackers. Breaking out in 2025, he posted 88 tackles (eight for a loss) with four pass breakups, 3.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles. Our scouting report noted his leadership and production but worried about his athleticism, giving him a lower grade than many of the NFL’s consensus that projects him as a possible first rounder.

Defensive lineman Christen Miller is big and nimble with pass rush upside. With 11.5 career tackles for loss and four sacks, his best days may be ahead of him if a coaching staff can turn Miller’s raw tools into good technique. Still, at 327 pounds with long arms, Miller possesses unique traits that make him a borderline Day 1 pick. He’s still just 21 years old with room to grow.

Wide receiver Zachariah Branch is a fun space player who does his damage after the catch. In 2025, he tallied 81 receptions for 811 yards and six touchdowns, setting career highs across the board. He’s also a capable returner with one career kick- and punt-return touchdown. His small 5-8, 177-pound frame is a predictable knock against him, but Branch still has NFL value.

Other Georgia NFL prospects include TE Oscar Delp, CB Daylen Everette, LB Raylen Wilson, and WR Colbie Young.

This week’s slate of Pro Days is among the busiest of the season. Penn State Pro Day is also Wednesday. Pittsburgh will certainly send representation to Happy Valley, but McCarthy clearly won’t be attending. Ole Miss and Stanford Pro Days are also today. Tomorrow features Cal, Michigan State, North Dakota State, and Utah. Friday is another massive one with Michigan’s Pro Day, one the Steelers’ brass annually attends.
