The Carolina Panthers have traded veteran quarterback Andy Dalton to the Philadelphia Eagles for a 2027 seventh-round pick, multiple reports said Wednesday.Dalton, 38, was allowed to seek a trade earlier this offseason after Carolina signed 27-year-old Kenny Pickett in free agency, giving the Panthers a younger option behind starter Bryce Young.Dalton joined the Panthers in 2023 to mentor Young and played a key role in that capacity. Over three seasons in Carolina, he appeared in 13 games with seven starts. He was the starter in 2024 before a thumb injury in a car accident allowed Young to reclaim the role.Throughout his 16-year NFL career, Dalton has played for the Bengals, Saints, Cowboys, Bears, and Panthers. He has thrown for 31,594 yards (26th all-time), 204 touchdowns (27th all-time), and 118 interceptions.Off the field, Dalton has been active in the Charlotte community and said he plans to remain in the area after retirement.
