Contract details were revealed for a few of the Pittsburgh Steelers’ newest members Tuesday morning. DL Sebastian Joseph-Day, S Jaquan Brisker, and RB Rico Dowdle’s figures are now known as shared by Aaron Wilson on X.

Sebastian Joseph-Day’s two-year contract worth $11 million includes a $4.7 million signing bonus with base salaries of $1.3 million and $5 million for each year of the deal. With a backloaded contract and a relatively small signing bonus, the Steelers could move on from Joseph-Day after one season and save $5 million on the 2027 cap with just $2.35 million in dead money from the prorated signing bonus.

Jaquan Brisker’s one-year deal worth $5.5 million comes with a $4.285 million signing bonus. The remaining $1.215 million will be earned via game checks over the course of the season in his base salary.

Rico Dowdle’s two-year contract worth $12.25 million comes with a $5 million signing bonus. His 2026 salary is just $1.25 million while his 2027 figure jumps up to $6 million. The Steelers could move on from him after one season and save $6 million on the cap with just $2.5 million in dead money from his prorated signing bonus.

The Steelers will have decisions on both Dowdle and Joseph-Day next offseason with potential to save a combined $11 million on the 2027 cap. This also gives the Steelers a runway to sign either player to an extension next offseason while they are still under contract for the following year. Jaylen Warren and Rico Dowdle are both under contract through 2027, so one or both could be up for a new deal again next offseason.

All three of these players count just $12.9 million against the cap for 2026 with a combined year-one cash flow of $17.75 million and $13.985 million in combined signing bonuses already given out.

That’s good business by Omar Khan and the Steelers for three veteran players who will play significant snaps in the 2026 season.
