Colts have retained Luke Tenuta
Pro Football Focus ranked the Indianapolis Colts offensive line as the second-best in the league for the 2025 season.
Indy has failed to retain a couple of players from last year’s O-line group, such as Braden Smith and Danny Pinter, but recently re-signed a depth player.
The Colts have announced that they retain tackle Luke Tenuta. The terms of the deal have yet to be revealed.
The offensive lineman was a practice squad player for the Colts, but injuries to the O-line allowed him to play in four games this season, filling in for Bernhard Raimann at times at left tackle.
Tenuta received an 81.3 pass-block grade from PFF this season — while high, the tackle did not play enough snaps in the 2025 season to be qualified among other players at his respective position.
Luke Tenuta has played in 7 games in his career (starting none) since being selected in the 2022 NFL Draft — the tackle has played the other 3 games of his career with the Green Bay Packers.
What Luke Tenuta Brings to the Roster

Luke Tenuta doesn’t have NFL starting experience, but he has some familiarity with the Indianapolis Colts’ offense, which can be his saving grace for the 2026 season.
The organization drafted all five members of the Colts O-line in the 2025 season and appears not to look outside for the members of the offensive front. This can work in Tenuta’s favor in securing some more playing time for himself.
While not a Colts draft pick, his pass-block grade from PFF reveals that he can play if allowed an opportunity. Indy has a good history in developing offensive linemen, such as Tanor Bortolini and Matt Goncalves this past season, who were both switched positions in the line and were bumped into full-time starting roles.
With Braden Smith gone, that starting right tackle spot is wide open. Similar to his teammates, Luke Tenuta can make a position switch from left tackle to right.
Fighting for the Starting Job

With Braden Smith gone, the job for the right tackle is open, but there is no clear answer on who will be the starter.
2025 fourth-round draft pick Jalen Travis filled in for Smith when the starter suffered a head and neck injury.
“We also were really pleased with the way Travis played,” Colts general manager Chris Ballard said, via the Colts. “We think he’s got a lot of upside here going forward.”
Travis received a 71.2 pass block grade and a 72.6 run block grade from Pro Football Focus in his limited action to end the 2025 season.
If the offensive lineman can keep up the momentum, he will likely become the starter in Week 1 of the 2026 season and put Luke Tenuta as a depth player.
