After trading their first-round draft pick to the Miami Dolphins for wide receiver Jaylen Waddle, the Denver Broncos aren’t scheduled to pick in the 2026 NFL draft until 62nd overall in the second round.

One dream prospect would be Notre Dame running back Jadarian Price, who met with the Broncos at the NFL combine. During an interview on FanDuel TV’s Up & Adams show with Kay Adams earlier this week, Price was asked what it was like to meet with coach Sean Payton in Indianapolis.

“It was intense, I’m not going to lie,” Price said. “A couple of interviews like that were intense. When you’ve got the head coach and the GM and other position coaches in there, it’s going to be intense. But you just got to show you know football and that you love football and everything will take care of itself.”

Price ran a 40-yard dash in 4.49 seconds and bench-pressed 225 pounds 21 times at the combine. The 22-year-old running back came away from the interview with the impression that Denver’s staff likes him.

“There’s a couple moments in interviews where they try to get you, and you just got to stay the course, stay calm,” he said. “I showed that I knew football and they congratulated me after and said, ‘You did a great job.'”

The Broncos used a second-round pick to select RJ Harvey in last year’s draft, and they just re-signed veteran J.K. Dobbins this offseason, but the team could still use more depth at running back. Dobbins has never played a full 17-game season in his career, and Denver would be wise to add a potential long-term partner for Harvey.

Price might not fall to the Broncos at the end of the second round, but it would be a dream scenario if he did. The 2026 NFL draft will be held in Pittsburgh from April 23-25.
