The Chicago Bears have been busy in the offseason strengthening their roster around cornerstone quarterback Caleb Williams. The incoming third-year QB has been the centerpiece of the Bears’ offense since they selected him as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Last season, in his second year in Chicago, Williams soared to new heights. He registered 3,942 yards and 27 touchdowns on 330 completed passes. The 24-year-old was a legitimate threat on the ground as well, recording 388 rushing yards and three TDs on 77 carries.

Williams led the Bears to an 11-6 record in 2025 en route to clinching the NFC North title. They defeated their bitter rivals, the Green Bay Packers, in the Wild Card round. Williams and Co., however, came up short in the Divisional Round, falling to the Los Angeles Rams.

Chicago Bears: Coby Bryant reveals Caleb Williams’ move

The Bears have lost a couple of key pieces in NFL free agency. However, they have also brought in some fresh faces to fill the void.

One of Chicago’s free agent additions is safety Coby Bryant, who is coming off a Super Bowl win with the Seattle Seahawks in February. In a recent interview, Bryant revealed what Williams did once Bryant’s move to Chicago was confirmed.

“He actually reached out to me,” Bryant said of Williams. He was the first person to reach out to me when I did sign. We were texting back and forth, just catching up, getting to know each other and stuff like that. And just telling him what we could build.

“… For him reaching out to me meant a lot, honestly. With me playing safety and [him] being quarterback, and him recognizing my game and vice versa. Elite talent. He’s just scratching the surface, honestly.”

Williams and Bryant won’t be sharing the field together, but the new Bears safety clearly appreciates the gesture from the team’s cornerstone star. Bryant also expressed how much he’s looking forward to seeing Williams dominate in 2026.

“I’m excited to watch him play and watch him be great this year for sure,” Bryant said.
