The Arizona Cardinals have made several moves in free agency so far. They have addressed many positions. While their moves might not be completely done, we know more or less what each position looks like.
The big question is: are the Cardinals are better as a result of the moves?
Over the next several articles, we will look at each position group and take a look at which players are not returning and who is new to determine whether they have improved at the position or not.
Let’s take a look at their specialists.
2026 Cardinals offseason moves at specialist positions
Gone:

Brewer has not signed with anyone. The Cardinals either moved on from him or he will be retiring. Haack was a late-season replacement for Blake Gillikin after Pat O’Donnell didn’t work out. He played well, but Gillikin was re-signed.
Returning:
P Blake GillikinK Chad RylandK Joshua Karty
Gillikin played only five games before a back injury ended his season. He led the NFL in punting average. He was re-signed to a one-year deal.
Ryland was a restricted free agent but not tendered. He re-signed to a smaller deal for one season.
Karty was a late-season addition and was an exclusive rights free agent who re-signed. Karty and Ryland presumably will compete for the kicking job.
New additions:
Kreiter is only a month younger than Brewer, so the Cardinals aren’t getting younger. He was the long snapper for the New York Giants for the last six seasons, the last two while new Cardinals special teams coordinator Michael Ghobrial held the same position with the Giants.
Kreiter does have one thing Brewer never has done. He was selected to the Pro Bowl in 2018.
