The Sean Mannion era is underway in Philadelphia, and the Eagles’ future fortunes will lie in the creativity of a former NFL quarterback and fast-rising coach. Mannion was hired to Matt LaFleur’s coaching staff as an offensive assistant working with quarterbacks under Tom Clements. LaFleur promoted Mannion to quarterbacks coach in 2025. Mannion is widely credited with playing an instrumental role in Malik Willis’s development, who went from a bust in Tennessee to the most valued free-agent quarterback available.

The Eagles were one-and-done in the NFC playoffs, and the offense will undergo a facelift under Sean Mannion and Josh Grizzard. Philadelphia led the NFL with a team-record 70.5% red zone TD efficiency. That should remain the status quo after Dallas Goedert’s return. The Eagles are one of only four teams to finish with a 70.0%+ red zone TD efficiency since the 2021 campaign, joining the 2024 Ravens (74.2%), 2024 Bills (71.6%), and 2022 Cowboys (71.4%). Philadelphia tied for the 4th-fewest turnovers (15 – tied for its fewest since allowing 13 in 1990) in the league, behind Chicago (11), Houston (12), and Green Bay (13).

With the off-season quickly moving along, here’s a look at the biggest winners and losers for the Eagles so far this NFL offseason, breaking down key roster moves, departures, and emerging storylines shaping Philadelphia heading into 2026.

WinnersQB Jalen Hurts

Hurts got Sean Mannion, Josh Grizzard, and Jerrod Johnson as offensive assistants, and then saw Lane Johnson and Landon Dickerson announce their returns.

With Phillips in Carolina, Hunt will step into the No. 1 pass-rush role for Philadelphia and could develop into one of the league’s top young edge rushers next season. Hunt has star power after finishing his second year with 52 tackles and 6.5 sacks.

EDGE Nolan Smith Jr.

Smith is now a projected starter off the edge after Jaelan Phillips joined the Carolina Panthers last week, and things improved even more for a player looking for a lucrative contract after the Eagles only added Arnold Ebiketie as a potential replacement.

Linebacker Jeremiah Trotter Jr.

Nakobe Dean joined the Raidesrs, and Jihaad Campbell, a 2025 first-round pick, will replace Dean in the starting lineup. Campbell will miss the off-season after having shoulder surgery, allowing Trotter Jr. all the reps this off-season and into the summer.

Safety Michael Carter II

After reworking his deal, Carter II could switch to the safety spot, and he received good news after the Eagles traded Sydney Brown and signed Marcus Epps and J.T. Gray. Even with those additions, Carter is in line to start or see significant snaps in the nickel/dime packages while coming off the field for Cooper DeJean in the base defense.

Center/guard Drew Kendall

With Brett Toth and Matt Pryor departing, Kendall has moved up the depth chart and could become the team’s top backup interior offensive linemen in 2026, playing both center and guard.

Offensive tackles Myles Hinton and Cameron Williams

With Fred Johnson departing, the two second-year offensive tackles will battle for the swing tackle spot behind Jordan Mailata and Lane Johnson. Eagles general manager Howie Roseman could still draft an offensive tackle in the first or second round of the 2026 draft.

LosersWR Darius Cooper

Hollywood Brown’s addition and Johnny Wilson’s return from injury will impede Cooper’s rise up the depth chart.

Cornerbacks Jakorian Bennett and Kelee Ringo

With the additions of Riq Woolen and Jonathan Jones, Bennett could be cut, with Ringo being a standout on special teams.

Loser: TE Cameron Latu

Latu will see snaps at the fullback position, but the return of Grant Calcaterra and Dallas Goedert, while Johnny Mundt also makes things difficult.
