Former Alabama quarterback Bryce Young played the best season of his career in 2025 where helped the Carolina Panthers win the NFC South and return to the postseason. Despite back-to-back lackluster seasons to begin his career, the former No. 1 overall pick has progressed significantly from what was almost looking like a historically bad career.

So when it comes to deciphering where Young ranks amongst his peers in the NFL, his productivity and upward trajectory point him to being around the middle of the pack. But not according to Fox Sports analyst Henry McKenna who ranked every starter heading into the 2026 season.

In his piece, McKenna had Young as the 24th best starting quarterback headed into the offseason. But what makes things absurd is that Malik Willis (Dolphins) is ranked ahead of Young when he was a backup quarterback for all of 2025. Also ahead of Young are players like Cam Ward, who was a part of a Tennessee Titans team that is picking in the top five in the upcoming draft, Kyle Murray, who was benched early into the season by the Arizona Cardinals and Jaxson Dart who started 14 games for the New York Giants and didn’t even throw for 3,000 yards. According to McKenna, Young also dropped in his rankings from 2025 where he slated at No. 22.

The evaluation of Young is inconsistent to say the least as he posted career highs in passing yards (3,011), passing touchdowns (21) and completions percentage (63.6%) yet still finds a way to regress in the rankings.

However, this is the type of rat poison his former college head coach Nick Saban would actually love to see and motivate his players for their next game. If anything Young could take a page out of that book with this list.
