Some college players don’t need to work out on their pro day. Sometimes they can steal the show by just being there.
Such is the case of Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love, a lead-pipe cinch to be drafted in the first hour of next month’s NFL draft. Love did not participate in the Fighting Irish’s pro day on Tuesday in South Bend, but it was clear that most NFL teams, especially those with high first-round picks, were there to see him nonetheless.

Love watched from the sidelines and supported his teammates. He is a team-first guy, and solidified that in his session with the media.
Those are words that are music to the ears of the New York Giants, who already have Love in their sights with the fifth overall selection. Big Blue wants to run the ball with authority under new head coach John Harbaugh, offensive coordinator Matt Nagy, and special assistant Greg Roman this year, and Love would be the perfect bell cow back to execute that plan.
That is, if one of the four teams ahead of them doesn’t pull the trigger first. One of those teams is the Tennessee Titans, who, for some reason, have been getting in the Giants’ way all this offseason.
