The Cincinnati Bengals fended off some competition for Joe Flacco.
ULtimately, the Bengals re-signed Flacco on a surprisingly big contract that locks him in as the backup behind Joe Burrow.
But it wasn’t without other teams in the mix.

According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Las Vegas Raiders were one of the teams going after Flacco during this process.
No shocker there. Those Raiders hold the first pick in the 2026 NFL draft and project to take a quarterback. Who better to mentor a No. 1 pick than Flacco?
But the Bengals let the checkbook do the talking this time. Because who better to back up Burrow? Flacco proved himself last year.
It always felt like Flacco was coming back, too, barring a shocker of a competition opening up elsewhere in the NFL. If all he has available to him is backup jobs, Cincinnati gives him a shot at a ring and has two other big exclamation marks: Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins.
