VATICAN CITY (NEWS 15) — New Orleans Saints and Pelicans owner Gayle Benson met with Pope Leo at the Vatican on Wednesday, March 25.
Benson was joined by the Archbishop of New Orleans during the visit. The two discussed the Pope’s family ties to New Orleans.
Benson also presented the Pope with a Saints jersey and invited him for a future visit to New Orleans.
The meeting highlighted the connection between the Catholic Church and the city of New Orleans.
