After a dreadful 2025 NFL season for the Cleveland Browns, the struggling organization will now look to completely rebuild the roster throughout the course of this offseason.

While the Browns’ defense was widely considered to be one of the best units across the NFL last season, the starting 11 was without one of their key playmakers in linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah. The former 2021 second-round pick missed all of last year due to a neck injury he sustained during the 2024 season.

Luckily for Cleveland, the front office did an excellent job last offseason of addressing the void by signing veteran linebacker Devin Bush and selecting Carson Schwesinger in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft. While the duo was able to make up for the lost production of Owusu-Koramoah, many fans have waited for an update on their star defender.

Fortunately for the desperate fanbase, Owusu-Koramoah gave Cleveland an intriguing update on his social media page, posting a picture of himself at the Browns’ facility on Thursday morning.

Coming out of college, Owusu-Koramoah was one of the best defensive players in the 2021 NFL Draft, as the former Notre Dame standout found his way to Cleveland on Day Two of the draft. It would not take long for the young star to become a key piece of the organization’s defense. As a rookie, Owusu-Koramoah finished with 76 tackles, four pass deflections, two forced fumbles, and 1.5 sacks.

After playing in just 11 games in the following season, the 6-foot-2, 221 lbs. linebacker would go on to have his best NFL season in 2023. During his 16-game stretch that year, he managed to notch 101 tackles, six pass deflections, 3.5 sacks, and two interceptions. His dominant efforts over the course of the year earned him a spot in the 2023 Pro Bowl and pointed to a bright future.

Now, Owusu-Koramoah remains a massive question mark for the Browns heading into the 2026 NFL season. If he is unable to play again next year, Cleveland will turn to Schwesinger and newly acquired linebacker Quincy Williams, who previously had experience playing under defensive coordinator Mike Rutenberg.
