TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Florida A&M football hosted Pro Day at Bragg Memorial Stadium in Tallahassee to showcase 10 players who are set to graduate from the university this spring.
According to Ron Dugans, the Rattlers Wide Receivers coach who also serves as the Pro Scout Liason, at least 12 scouts for pro football teams were in attendance.
Two names that stood out to one attending scout were offensive lineman Ashton Grable and defensive back Ah’Mare Lee. He said they were noticibly quick and their footwork was impressive.
While the NFL is the goal for all 10 players, Dugans said how grateful the FAMU football family is for everything the players gave the Rattlers program.
“We want to make sure they get rewarded for it, [by getting] as many scouts out as we can, as well as have everything available for them that they needed to be successful today,” said Dugans. “It’s a big time day. A big time win for FAMU and our current players… These guys did a good job today of coming out and working.”
“I know a lot of people, they sleep on smaller school guys,” said Grable. “So if I can get that level and I can stay and I can play, I can prove that guys in my shoes at small schools can play at their level.”
