The Buffalo Bills will once again be led by quarterback Josh Allen as he prepares to enter his ninth NFL season. He will continue a tenure that began when the franchise handed him the reins after selecting him in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft. Since arriving out of Wyoming, Allen has steadily evolved from a raw prospect into one of the premier quarterbacks of his generation, combining elite arm strength with mobility and consistent production.

Over the years, Allen’s individual growth has translated into regular-season success for Buffalo. The 2024 MVP has turned the franchise into a perennial playoff contender, earning Pro Bowl honors and leading one of the league’s most dynamic offenses. However, that individual brilliance has not yet culminated in the ultimate goal: a Super Bowl title.

Buffalo’s playoff shortcomings persisted in the 2025 season. The team finished 12-5 and advanced past the Wild Card round but fell in the Divisional Round to the Denver Broncos in a 33-30 overtime defeat.

In response, the organization has been aggressive in reshaping the roster this offseason. The Bills promoted former offensive coordinator Joe Brady to head coach after parting ways with Sean McDermott. They have also surrounded Allen with more reliable talent, including WR DJ Moore, during the offseason.

Buffalo made more additions to its offense on Thursday. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Bills signed three free agents to one-year contracts: guard/center Austin Corbett, center Lloyd Cushenberry III, and wide receiver Trent Sherfield.

Sherfield brings the most recent statistical production among the trio. He has recorded 89 receptions for 1,034 yards and six touchdowns throughout his NFL career, and is able to contribute as both a receiver and special teamer.  Known for his blocking and versatility, Sherfield provides depth to a receiving corps that failed to produce last season.

Cushenberry, a former third-round pick and full-time starter since entering the league, has appeared in 80 career games with 80 starts.  While his recent form has fluctuated, his experience and familiarity with complex protection schemes give Buffalo a dependable option in the middle of the offensive line.

Corbett, meanwhile, brings positional flexibility as a veteran interior lineman capable of playing both guard and center. He is also a former Super Bowl champion with the Los Angeles Rams.

With new pieces in place, the Bills will hope their latest additions can provide the stability and depth needed to elevate the offense.

As Allen enters another season at the helm, expectations remain unchanged. With an improved supporting cast and continued roster adjustments, Buffalo will once again aim to turn regular-season success into a long-awaited first Super Bowl title in franchise history.
