Former UCLA Bruin and Super Bowl champion Jake Bobo nearly left the Seattle Seahawks this offseason after helping the team win the Lombardi Trophy in February. Bobo signed an offer sheet with the Jacksonville Jaguars but the Seahawks matched the deal to retain Bobo.

Bobo got a two-year $5.5 million deal, which could grow to $7 million. Bobo isn’t a huge part of the Seattle offense, but the wide receiver is a solid blocker and special teams player, with Seattle deciding that Bobo is worthy of sticking with the Seahawks as they look to defend their Super Bowl title this fall.

Over the course of three seasons, Bobo has caught just 34 passes. Bobo added another two receptions in the 2025 playoffs, including a touchdown in a win over the Los Angeles Rams. Seahawks general manager John Schneider spoke about why retaining Bobo was a priority for the team.

“Jake’s a culture guy,” Schneider said to Seattle Sports. “He had limited targets this year, but his effect on our team, you can’t really put a dollar amount on it – the way he affected our running game, special teams, the way he works, the way he conducts business every single day.”

Bobo played just one season with UCLA, the 2022 campaign, after spending four years with the Duke Blue Devils.

“We just decided that he’s one of us,” Schneider said. “And for what we want to continue to do here – smart, tough, reliable – he’s all that and more. … I can’t say enough good things about Jake.”

Seattle’s loyalty to Bobo is noteworthy, as the Seahawks let Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker III leave in free agency to Kansas City.
