Linebacker is one of the few remaining positions of need for the Los Angeles Rams, as they’re likely seeking an upgrade from Omar Speights alongside Nate Landman. This draft class is loaded with intriguing prospects, one of them being Cincinnati’s Jake Golday.
He’s mostly viewed as a Day 2 prospect but he could sneak into the end of the first round. The Rams are showing interest in Golday, reportedly doing an off-site visit with the Cincinnati linebacker before the draft.
According to Arye Pulli of On SI, the Rams sent a representative to meet with Golday. The Rams don’t bring prospects in for pre-draft visits, so this off-site meeting is a way for them to get to know a player.
Golday is a big, athletic linebacker who tested well at the NFL combine. At 6-foot-4 and 239 pounds, he ran an impressive 4.62 in the 40-yard dash and jumped 39 inches in the vertical. He also had a 10-foot-5 broad jump.
He’s a three-down linebacker who could help the Rams right away, both on defense and special teams. Golday is someone to keep in mind when the Rams go on the clock at No. 61 overall.
