Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman played it safe when discussing the ongoing trade talk surrounding three-time All-Pro wide receiver A.J. Brown.

There has been talk about Brown potentially being traded after June 1, when the Eagles would absorb the least dead cap charge for such a move. The possibility that Brown stays in Philly isn’t completely dead, either. Until one or the other happens, it makes sense for Roseman to continue doing his best balancing act by neither confirming nor denying the trade talk.

But as of right now, Brown is still a member of the Eagles.

“I understand that there’s interest in the A.J. Brown story,” Roseman said, via NBC Sports Philadelphia’s Dave Zangaro. “Unfortunately, I don’t have a home under a rock. But my answer to any question on A.J. Brown is that A.J. Brown is a member of the Eagles. From my perspective, anything you ask me about A.J. Brown, I’m going to go right back to that answer. But I understand the interest. I put on TV and I see that there’s interest. But my answer is A.J. Brown is a member of the Philadelphia Eagles.”

If the Eagles decide to move Brown, the New England Patriots are currently the likeliest landing spot for the veteran wide receiver. The team has a clear need for a No. 1 wideout, and Brown has a close relationship with Patriots coach Mike Vrabel.

Of course, another team could get into the mix if they still have a need after the 2026 NFL Draft. The Patriots might also drop out of the pursuit if a high-end receiving prospect falls into their hands. So much can change between now and June 1.

Buckle up.
