It seems that’s all anyone can talk about right now when it comes to the New England Patriots, as trade rumors continue to circle. However, all that noise is coming from outside as things seem to be pretty quiet regarding the star receiver among the front office.

During an appearance on the Up & Adams show, host Kay Adams brought up Brown, and Executive Vice President of Player Personnel Eliot Wolf made one thing very clear.

A.J. Brown is a member of the Eagles, as (Eagles GM) Howie (Roseman) mentioned yesterday,” Wolf said. “We haven’t had any conversations about anything regarding that in a long time.” As Wolf mentioned, he was just reiterating what Roseman said the day prior, which was. “I understand that there’s interest in the A.J. Brown story. I, unfortunately, don’t have a home under a rock. But my answer to any question on A.J. Brown is A.J. Brown is a member of the Eagles.”

“From my perspective, anything you ask me about A.J. Brown, I’m going to go right back to that answer,” he added. “But I understand the interest. I put on TV, and I see that there’s interest but my answer is A.J. Brown is a member of the Philadelphia Eagles.”

Could a Trade Still Happen?Executive vice president of player development Eliot Wolf

While his comments might have some fans doubting whether this will happen, the Executive Vice President of Player Personnel admitted that the door isn’t completely closed.

“I mean, again, we’ll look at any player that we think might have a chance to improve our team,” Wolf told MassLive on Monday at the league meetings. “You know, whether they’re – again, can’t talk about players on other teams, but we’re still trying to improve the roster.”

But, if a trade does happen, it’s likely it won’t occur until after June 1. And that’s because if Brown were to be traded before June 1, the Eagles would take on a decent “dead money” hit to their salary cap this year. But, if they wait until after June 1, the team can spread it over two seasons, meaning they wouldn’t have to absorb all $43.5 million in 2026.

However, along with rumors about Brown, the Patriots haven’t ruled out a reunion with Stefon Diggs, who was recently released from the team.

“I never like to rule anything out,” Wolf said on the Up & Adams show. “There’s always different scenarios that come up, whether you have an injury or, you know, a scheme shift or whatever the case may be, so don’t want to close the door on anything.”

Regardless of what happens with Brown, it seems the receiver will be in Foxborough at some point this summer, one way or another.

ESPN’s Mike Reiss reported Sunday that head coach Mike Vrabel and Eagles coach Nick Sirianni “had preliminary discussions” about a joint practice in Foxborough.

On Monday, it was confirmed by Sirianni at the NFL League meetings in Arizona.

And with that, the Patriots will play against Philadelphia for one of their preseason games. It’s unknown when that will be during training camp, but it will happen at Gillette Stadium.
