The Eagles signed 2nd-year linebacker Chandler Martin to a two-year contract Monday, his agency, JL Sports, announced on social media.
Martin, undrafted last year out of Memphis, spent his rookie year with the Ravens, bouncing several times between the practice squad and active roster. He played in three games as a game-day elevation with no defensive snaps and 34 on special teams.
On the opening kickoff return in a Week 13 game against the Bengals at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Martin suffered a torn ACL and missed the rest of the season. He was released on Jan. 12.
Martin, 6-foot, 230 pounds, spent 2020 through 2022 at East Tennessee State in Johnson City, Tenn., where he had 103 tackles and 3 ½ sacks in 18 games. He transferred to Memphis, where he spent 2023 and 2024. He was named to the American Athletic Conference 1st-team in 2023 after recording 17 tackles for loss with two interceptions.
Martin adds linebacker depth behind starters Zack Baun and Jihaad Campbell. With Nakobe Dean now with the Raiders, the only depth linebackers the Eagles had on the roster were a couple 5th-round picks – 2024 selection Jeremiah Trotter Jr. out of Clemson and last year’s 5th-rounder, Smael Mondon from Georgia.
The Ravens’ special teams coach, Randy Brown, is the father of Eagles special teams assistant Tyler Brown.
