Liam Coen attempted to make an addition to the Jacksonville Jaguars’ offensive coaching staff this offseason.
According to Ryan O’Halloran of the Florida Times-Union, Coen said he tried to hire former Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ offensive coordinator Josh Grizzard this offseason. Grizzard, however, ended up with the Philadelphia Eagles.

The 2025 season was Grizzard’s lone season as the Bucs’ offensive coordinator. Tampa Bay would finish the season ranked 18th in points per game, averaging 22.4 per contest.
Coen and Grizzard spent the 2024 season together in Tampa Bay. That year, Coen was the Bucs’ offensive coordinator, while Grizzard was the offensive pass game coordinator.
It is unclear what role Coen wanted to hire Grizzard to with the Jaguars, but of note, Grizzard is now the Eagles’ pass game coordinator. So perhaps Coen wanted to bring him aboard in a similar — but potentially different — capacity, with Shane Waldron already holding the title of pass game coordinator for the Jaguars.

As Coen highlighted earlier this offseason, he always has to be mindful of who else might be out there, as he looks for ways to continue enhancing his coaching staff.
The continuity that the Jaguars are maintaining on their coaching staff, with the team retaining Grant Udinski and Anthony Campanile, can be a catalyst for both units taking a step forward in 2026.
