NFL teams voted to approve several rule changes on Tuesday and the NFL Annual Meeting.
Among the changes are some adjustments to the kickoff rules, including a change to allow teams to declare an onside kick at any point of the game.
Another change allows league personnel to consult with on-field officials when considering player ejections. There is also a one-year only change that allows the NFL officiating department to correct clear and obvious mistakes made by on-field officials in the event of a work stoppage, leading to the use of replacement officials.
