Cleveland Browns head coach Todd Monken will have to wait another year to be in his first NFL annual group coaches photo.
Monken reportedly missed the photo after getting a haircut — for the photoshoot — at the time pictures were taken, according to Cleveland.com’s Mary Kay Cabot.

Monken found out that he missed the photoshoot 20 minutes after the picture had been taken, after running into Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Liam Coen. The photo was taken immediately after a coaching meeting that Monken also missed due to his haircut.
Monken was not the only NFL head coach not in the picture, which is also missing Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay.
Monken reportedly “joked he has plenty of incentive for not going one-and-done, so he can make his first appearance in the photo next year.”
While mistakes happen, Monken has little room for error as the first-year head coach who hopes to lead the Browns to success after a two-year playoff drought. Monken’s first order of business will be identifying a starting quarterback.

Monken has refused to name a starting quarterback, as the Browns are expected to have a competition with Deshaun Watson and second-year QBs Shedeur Sanders and Dillon Gabriel. Watson was the team’s starter since being acquired from the Texans but was sidelined last season with a torn Achilles. Sanders and Gabriel each started parts of their rookie seasons.
Monken was previously the offensive coordinator of the Baltimore Ravens and Georgia Bulldogs, where he helped in Lamar Jackson’s and Stetson Bennett’s development, respectively. The Browns will soon find out if Monken is cut out to be the Browns’ head coach.
