After months of uncertainty, Bo Nix has given Denver Broncos fans a real reason to feel optimistic again. The young quarterback is reportedly making strong progress in his recovery from the injury that abruptly ended his 2025 season during Denver’s divisional round loss to the Buffalo Bills.

It was a tough blow after Nix had followed up an impressive rookie campaign with an even better start to his second year, looking every bit like the long-term answer under center for the Broncos. Now, with the offseason underway and positive updates starting to emerge, there is finally a growing sense that Denver could head into next season with its franchise quarterback back on track.

Jordan Schultz shared the news on X saying, “Interesting nugget out of the NFL owners meetings: Not only is #Broncos QB Bo Nix a full go for the team’s offseason program with zero limitations, fully recovered from ankle surgery—he’s actually further along than he typically is in his offseason conditioning program, per sources.”

Bo Nix to Power the Broncos to Another Playoff Run?

It did not take long for panic to set in around Denver after Bo Nix went down in the playoffs. Nix had looked like one of the NFL’s biggest breakout stars in 2025, building on his impressive rookie year by leading the Broncos to a 14-3 record and the AFC’s No. 1 seed. He was playing some of the best football of his career before suffering a fractured ankle during Denver’s postseason win over Buffalo.

Because of the timing of the injury, there was immediate concern about whether he would be healthy in time for next season. Denver struggled badly without him in the AFC title game, and that only added to the anxiety surrounding his recovery. Now, a few months later, the situation looks far more encouraging.

According to multiple reports, Nix is progressing faster than expected and should have no issues being ready for offseason activities. Broncos owner Greg Penner recently said the team has no concerns about Nix going forward.

That is a huge relief for Denver, especially after rumors linked the team to Aaron Rodgers as a possible backup plan if Nix was not ready for Week 1.
