No surprise, but the Indianapolis Colts rank near the bottom of the NFL in draft capital value.

Josh Edwards of CBS Sports ranked each team from 32nd to 1st by the value of their draft picks after assigning each selection in every round a specific value and then adding those figures together.

When it comes to the Colts, they are ranked 29th with their picks totaling 202.43 points. The only teams with less draft capital value than the Colts are the Falcons, Packers, and Broncos.

With the Colts not having a first-round pick, it doesn’t come as a surprise that they are near the bottom. That leaves them with only two picks in the top 100. In addition to that, Indianapolis possesses a modest seven selections in total.

In order to acquire more draft capital, since there are still a number of roster holes to address, on multiple occasions this offseason, GM Chris Ballard has hinted strongly at wanting to trade down.

The strengths of this year’s draft class could create an environment where trading back, particularly early on, makes a lot of sense for the Colts.
