The Miami Dolphins have already signed defensive backs Darrell Baker, Alex Austin, Ronnie Harrison, Marco Wilson, Zayne Anderson and Lonnie Johnson Jr. to fill the holes left by the departures of Minkah Fitzpatrick, Ashtyn Davis, Kader Kohou, Elijah Campbell, Jack Jones, Rasul Douglas, Artie Davis, Ifeatu Melifonwu and Kendall Sheffield this offseason.

However, that doesn’t mean the Dolphins won’t look for another young defensive back to add to the mix in the 2026 NFL draft.

In fact, Oregon’s Jadon Canady recently told Sports Illustrated’s Justin Melo that he met virtually with Miami ahead of the draft.

Canady, 22, played high school football at Duncan U. Fletcher High School in Neptune Beach, Florida and Sandalwood High School in Jacksonville, Florida. He was a three-star recruit before committing to Tulane.

After two years at Tulane, Canady transferred to Ole Miss for two years and transferred again for a final collegiate season at Oregon. In 49 games between the three schools, he recorded 154 tackles, 23 passes defensed, four interception, two fumble recoveries and one forced fumble.

Canady lined up all over the defense, as he spent 42.7% of his snaps in the slot, 34% as a boundary cornerback, 12.5% as a box safety, 8.6% as a free safety and 2.2% along the defensive line.

At this point, Canady is going in the later rounds of most mock drafts, meaning Miami could bring him in a depth option and special teamer in a room that needs someone to stand out.
