GLENDALE – A surprising new name has taken over as the betting favorite to land third overall to the Arizona Cardinals. On Fanduel Sportsbook, the odds for the top six picks are available. Unsurprising, Indiana QB Fernando Mendoza is a -20000 favorite to go first overall, but that is where the odds derail. For the second pick, betting odds has Ohio State’s Arvell Reese and Texas Tech David Bailey nearly tied at -120 and -110 respectively.

Fanduel’s odds indicate that Arizona will likely take whoever the New York Jets take at two will go three, which it has being Reese.

Cardinals full betting odds for 3rd pick:

David Bailey: +330
Francis Mauigoa: +480
Jeremiyah Love: +950
Sonny Styles: +1100
Rueben Bain Jr.: +1200

Since the NFL Combine, Reese has been penciled in to go to the Big Apple and be a part of the Jets pass rush. However, as time has pass, experts and betting odds have shifted their opinion to 50/50 against Bailey to go second overall. The pair of pass rushers share the same height, with Bailey having the slightest of edges when it comes to weight.
Reese is a full two years younger than Bailey, leading many draft analysts to believe that the former Buckeye isn’t done developing. The All-American had 6.5 sacks and 10 tackles for loss at Columbus, while less impressive than Bailey’s counting stats, the tape shows plenty of potential for Reese to become a dominate NFL edge upon arrival because of his power and speed.

Betting odds indicate Cardinals will go pass rush with the third pick, selecting whoever the Jets don’t select. Arizona was 28th in sacks with 30 last season. A 39-year-old Calais Campbell was second on the team in sacks (6.5), proving the franchise needs some young blood in the pass rush.
General manager Monti Ossenfort could afford to take on a short-term project like Reese, with the current roster not built to compete in a tough NFC West. The tandem of Josh Sweat and Reese builds a solid foundation for the Cardinals’ front seven that was impressive in 2025 before injuries derailed the second half of the season.
