A former Denver Broncos backup quarterback has found a new NFL home.
The New York Giants signed quarterback Brandon Allen on Monday, the team announced (via Giants Wire). The 33-year-old veteran is now poised to serve as New York’s third-string quarterback behind Jaxson Dart and Jameis Winston.
Allen (6-2, 219 pounds) served as a Broncos backup quarterback behind Joe Flacco and Drew Lock in 2019. He went 1-2 as a fill-in starter that season, completing 46.4% of his passes for 515 yards and three touchdowns against two interceptions. The journeyman QB has spent time with seven NFL teams in his career, going 2-8 as a starter.
Elsewhere on the ex-Bronco front, wide receiver Elijah Moore signed with the Philadelphia Eagles. That signing happened in March, but it flew under the radar at Broncos Wire until this week. Moore (5-10, 180 pounds) joined Denver’s practice squad last December.
He was elevated to the game-day roster for the AFC Championship game in January and hauled in a four-yard catch. The Broncos let Moore’s practice squad contract expire earlier this year, making him a free agent. He’s now back on his feet in Philly.
