The New Orleans Saints have some of the best fans in the NFL, as a recent study has the metrics to prove it.

There’s no denying that the New Orleans Saints have one of the most loyal fanbases in the NFL. These fans have been through some of the worst times on and off the field.

There was the time that Hurricane Katrina forced the Saints to temporarily relocate. Fans followed the team around and were patiently waiting when the club returned to New Orleans.

That loyal fanbase was rewarded with a Super Bowl victory in 2010. Unfortunately, it hasn’t been all wine and roses since then.

But that hasn’t deterred Saints fans from being among the loudest in the NFL. According to a study conducted by casino.org, New Orleans fans ranked 8th in the NFL based on the decibel level at the Caesars Superdome. Technically, that’s tied for 5th in the league, with seven other teams, coming in at 95 decibels.

All right, so just how loud is 95 decibels?

Well, for comparison’s sake, 95 decibels are considered “very loud.” It’s akin to a nightclub or a chainsaw. The maximum exposure time is 14 to 15 minutes. Exposure to such noise beyond that time could lead to injury.

It’s also worth noting that “safe” decibel levels are 70 or below.

Considering how Saints fans didn’t have a whole lot to cheer for in 2025, this study shows just how enthusiastic New Orleans can be.

Saints Fans Could Have Plenty to Cheer for in 2026

Despite finishing the season 6-11, the Saints gave fans encouraging signs towards the end of the season. The team won four of its last five. That total over a 17-game season would give New Orleans a 13-5 mark.

That’s not bad, particularly when considering that everyone else finished 8-9 in the NFC South.

That situation could lead to Saints fans having plenty to cheer about in 2026. Tyler Shough looks like the real deal, and with a promising first-round pick coming into the fold, New Orleans faithful could see a drastic turnaround in next season.

Perhaps it might be too soon to expect a return to the postseason. But even a slight turnaround, coupled with a relatively weak division, could give the Saints a fighting chance to head back to the playoffs next season.

New Orleans Heading in the Right Direction

Overall, it seems like the Saints are heading in the right direction. The team has a QB it could potentially build around. There’s a young head coach with plenty of vision in Kellen Moore. Ownership wants to win, and the fans are not going anywhere.

That combination looks like a good one for a club looking to turn the ship around. New Orleans has improved despite not making the playoffs since the 2020 season.

So, there’s hope. There’s a sense that next season could be better than 9-8. A good start might see the team get into double digits in victories. With the offseason additions, it wouldn’t be hard to envision the Saints getting back to the postseason.

It will be an interesting time to be a Saints fan in 2026.
