Do we buy the idea that Ty Simpson could be the Cardinals’ answer?

I’d buy it.

I mean, I’d buy it because, you know, I’ve, I’ve been through Arizona the last few years, and, you know, the general manager, Monti Ossenfort, I think he knows that, a- another season hitting the rocks without some kind of hope at the quarterback position, could potentially cost him his job after the 2026 season.

And, you know, I, I don’t feel like he was ever fully in on Kyler Murray.

I’ve felt like Monti Ossenfort has been looking afield for a quarterback for a few years now, but also knowing that because of cap ramifications, he really couldn’t move on from Kyler.

And then also, you know, ownership wanted to remain committed to the money and, and try to make it work.

But I, I feel like Monti Ossenfort’s been trying to move off of Kyler Murray now for two seasons.

And the I, I guess the one question, are you buying where they’re gonna take Ty Simpson?

Yeah.

Because, you know, but my question I, I think if they take him at the top of the second round, I’m completely buying it, right?

Yeah.

But I- But they’re not taking him at three.

No one thinks they’re taking him at three.

Yeah.

No.

absolutely not.

No.

But, but I even kind of question, are they gonna move up to take him at the end of the first round?

I, I don’t, I don’t know that that’s necessarily the case.

And I only say that because, you know, Charles McDonald and I, we did the 12th annual All Juice Team, obviously honoring our former colleague, Therese Paler.

And, you know, Simpson, when we were hashing out the quarterbacks, and I’m going You know, I’m talking to all these different teams about quarterbacks, Simpson’s name did not come up come up a lot, honestly.

Like, it was like It was, it was- Yeah clearly Mendoza was the guy, and then it was just a mixed bag of like, “Let me tell you why I don’t like all these other guys.”

And I did not get a sense And, and I talked to a number of teams that need a quarterback.

I did not get a sense that, that, you know, Ty Simpson is gonna be a first-round pick.

Now, maybe that changes.

I just It’s hard for me to believe you’re gonna give up future capital or more capital, even in this draft, to move up from the top of the second round to get Ty Simpson, when I don’t think It does not seem to me, and again, a lot can change in a week, and, you know, we’ll get nothing but lied to.

It just does not feel like there’s this massive appetite out there amongst a great many teams to draft Ty Simpson.
