We all know that one football fan that just won’t stop blaming random little things on their favorite team’s losses. Whether it’s bad calls from referees, bad weather, or even the classic armchair coaching, it’s a hilariously common thing. But, your average football fan doesn’t tend to blame a country music star.

However, Hanna McNair, the wife of the Houston Texans owner, seems to think that a certain country singer is behind the team’s loss in the postseason last year. And, according to Whiskey Riff, she blames Houston native and country singer star Parker McCollum.

A pretty strange reason, right? The “Pretty Heart” singer is a pretty diehard fan of the Texans – how could he possibly have ruined things? Well… he didn’t show up to a game. McNair seems to view him as a pretty good lucky charm.

And, in a move that probably felt like a slight slap to the face, McCollum was actually at the Pittsburgh Steelers game – where they won!

During the NFL’s annual league meeting, McNair aired out her playful “beef” with the country star. “I blame Parker McCollum for not coming to New England (when we played the) Patriots, because he was at the Steelers game. I told him that when we saw him at the (Houston Livestock Show and) Rodeo. I said, ‘You know, you’re the reason that we lost that game!'”

She finished by saying that she hopes he will come to all of their playoff games next year. Perhaps he will be the lucky charm they need!

Parker McCollum Apologised to the Houston Texans Over the Ordeal

But, in a brave show of humility, Parker McCollum actually ended up apologising to everyone. Whether that’s to McNair, or to fans, or to both, he didn’t specify.

Either way, on a story he posted to Instagram that was reposted on social media, he had a pretty straightforward reply to McNair’s accusations.

“Sorry guys???” And sorry he should be!

Either way, we do forsee Parker McCollum showing up to a few more games after this. We reckon he’d be getting the royal treatment, if his status of a good luck charm keeps up of course!
