It is almost time for the 2026 NFL Draft to begin, and that means that the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks are on the brink of adding young talent to the roster.
General manager John Schneider and head coach Mike Macdonald enter the draft with just four selections in their arsenal, however, as only a pair of starters from the roster that won Super Bowl LX by pasting the New England Patriots 29-13 departed in free agency, there may not be a lot of holes that need filled before the start of the season.
With all of that in mind, it is time for the annual event that is the Field Gulls Armchair GM Challenge, and while the methodology is the same this year as it has been in years past, the system used is different and more restrictive. Basically, no more gaming the system by selecting the same player multiple times because the submission system has been greatly tweaked.
The scoring system for the challenge will be the same as in years past: each entrant chooses 20 players they believe the Seahawks may select in the draft. Each of those selections is assigned a point value from 30 points down to 11 points, with the entrant who finishes the contest with the most points declared the winner.
The difference this year is that instead of just a simple Google Form, there’s an actual website that handles the submissions, making the process a bit different compared to years past. Specifically, this year entry is a multi-step process. The first step is to navigate to the 2026 Field Gulls Armchair GM Challenge, where you will be greeted with a page that looks like this:
On this page you will be able to add the twenty players you would like on your entry to your board by first selecting a position, and then selecting the desired player from the panel in the middle of the screen. The following image shows what happens when IOL is selected in the left panel.
Then it’s simply a matter of clicking on a player’s name to add them to the board on the right. There is no need to worry about order at this point, as this part of the process is only about adding the players to the board. Once the board has been filled and there are twenty players in the list, the “Proceed to Next Step” button at the bottom of the right panel will turn green.
You may need to scroll down to reach that button, but once you have scrolled down to it, clicking takes you to a page on which you may rearrange the value of the twenty selections made.
On this page each of the twenty players selected for the entry will be on a draggable card that may be moved to rearrange the order of the players on your entry. Once you have the entries arranged in the desired order, enter your SBNation username in the space at the bottom of the screen and click “Submit Entry”.
Good luck to everyone, and time depending there should be standings updates at least daily during the draft, with final results likely to be published Sunday morning.
And just in case anyone missed it above:
