NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – New Orleans Saints fans, your wait for the Black and Gold’s first pick will be a little shorter on Thursday night.
That’s right, the NFL Draft is changing things up for for the first time in 18 years.
This year in Pittsburgh, it’s eight minutes between picks in the first round. Last year, it was 10 minutes before picks in Round 1. Back in 2006, it was 15 minutes between picks. Say what!?
The NFL Draft is riveting television, but it can drag a little. Shaving two minutes off a pick is a great idea, speed this thing up.
Not all agree. Steelers GM Omar Khan said, “Eight minutes is what it is, but those two minutes, it feels like an eternity sometimes.”
His head coach Mike McCarthy replied back, “I only get 40 seconds to call a play.”
Exactly, change is good. Things will be just fine. Enjoy a shorter first night of the NFL Draft Who-Dats.
