The Patriots already made their first move in the 2026 NFL Draft, trading up in the first round to select Utah offensive lineman Caleb Lomu. New England moved from No. 31 to No. 28 in a deal with the Bills, giving Drake Maye another young blocker as the franchise continues building around its Pro Bowl quarterback.

Now, the focus shifts to Day 2.

After coming up just one win short of the seventh Super Bowl title in franchise history, the Patriots still have more work to do in Rounds 2 and 3. New England has landed impact players in recent drafts, including Maye, Christian Gonzalez, Will Campbell and TreVeyon Henderson, and the front office will look to add more young talent to a roster built to contend right away.

With multiple picks still available, the Patriots could stay patient and let the board come to them, or package selections to move up for a prospect they believe can help immediately.
