In the 3rd round with the 95th pick overall, the New England Patriots selected Notre Dame tight end, Eli Raridon.

Plagued with injuries early in his career, Raridon worked his way back up the depth chart to become Notre Dame’s No. 1 tight end over the last two seasons. The offensive identity at Notre Dame has changed somewhat, and the normal TE production we are used to, didn’t quite materialize in the same way.

Over the last two seasons, Raridon caught 43 passes for 572 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Raridon has an incredible frame and is a solid athlete, and in the right system, he should become a dynamic weapon in the passing game.

This pick solidifies a big tradition at Notre Dame. Every No. 1 tight end from Notre Dame has been drafted dating back to Anthony Fasano, who was drafted in ‘06. Notre Dame is truly TEU and Raridon should really help add to that legacy.
