Jameson Williams is no longer wearing No. 9 in Detroit. While the jersey change was announced earlier this offseason, it’s still a strange sight to see Williams rocking a different number in Lions OTAs this week.

“Jamo” is now No. 1 in both your hearts and your programs, to borrow from the announcing cliche. Williams took over the No. 1 jersey vacated by former wideout Maurice Alexander, who is no longer with the Lions. Detroit’s media team posted a picture of Williams in his new jersey from the OTAs.

They also included a clip of Williams in action in positional drills, as part of a larger “welcome back to action” video that also includes Aidan Hutchinson in his leg sleeve.

Williams is looking to build off his 58-catch, 1,001-yard breakout campaign in 2024.
