The Kansas City Chiefs are the most recent team to repeat as Super Bowl champions, prevailing in Super Bowls 57 and 58. But it’s a very hard feat to pull off, considering Kansas City was the first team to earn consecutive Lombardi Trophies in 20 years when it won Super Bowl 58.

Still, in the latest Super Bowl odds update from BetMGM Sportsbook, the defending champion Philadelphia Eagles are the current favorites to win Super Bowl 60, at +650. The oddsmakers believe the biggest threats to their supremacy are two AFC powerhouses, the Baltimore Ravens (+700) and Buffalo Bills (+750).

Of course, we can never count the Chiefs out, as they have won five of the last six AFC Championships on a run not seen since the Tom Brady era in New England. Kansas City is at +800 to win Super Bowl 60.

But it is very unlikely that we will see the same two teams play in the Super Bowl again. Only once in NFL history have the same two teams met in consecutive Super Bowls.

So at least one of the Eagles and Chiefs might not win their conference this season. View all of our Super Bowl odds and analysis and see the guide to betting on Super Bowl 60 early here.

Super Bowl 60 early trends

The Eagles, Ravens and Bills have remained at the same odds for Super Bowl 60 since Feb. 9, the date of Super Bowl 59. Kansas City has slipped a bit from +750 to +800, but if you believe it will return to glory this season, then the payout has slightly improved.

Detroit opened at +850, was at +900 by the beginning of April, and now is at +1000 on BetMGM Sportsbook, per Sports Odds History. This could be the season where the Lions finish the job in the NFC and win the conference title.

Detroit should be hungry again after an unceremonious early playoff exit last year. Odds will shift throughout the season, so consider placing a futures bet on the Lions now to possibly get better value.

Cincinnati is back at +2000 after a stretch of being at +1800, but the defense could prevent the Bengals from returning to the Super Bowl for the second time in five seasons. San Francisco has already taken a significant tumble, opening at +1300, and now it is at +2000. A healthier 49ers team, though, will be a viable value target.

The Green Bay Packers and Los Angeles Chargers are two prime Super Bowl sleeper candidates, and both are now at +2500 in the latest Super Bowl 60 odds. Green Bay opened at +2000 and the Chargers opened at +2200.
