To make room on their 90-man roster, the Seahawks waived undrafted rookie defensive tackle DeMeco Roland.
The 6-foot-6, 307-pound Campbell began his college career at Independence Community College in Kansas. He then spent two seasons at Louisiana-Monroe before transferring to Miami and spending his final two seasons with the Hurricanes.
Campbell’s best college season was with Louisiana-Monroe in 2022, when he posted one sack, 3.5 tackles for loss, one pass breakup and one forced fumble. Last year, he 0.5 tackles for loss and one pass breakup with Miami.
Prior to signing with the Seahawks, Campbell took part in rookie minicamps with Minnesota and Philadelphia as a tryout player.
Campbell joins a group of rookie Seattle defensive linemen that also includes fifth-round draft pick Rylie Mills, J.R. Singleton and Bubba Thomas.
The Seahawks held their first OTA practice on Tuesday.
