FAIRFIELD — Will Levis tries to make sure each spring he gets back to Connecticut to see his younger sister, Claire, play lacrosse at Hand.
Levis, a quarterback for the NFL’s Tennessee Titans, had yet to see Claire play a game this season. But once the Tigers advanced to the CIAC Class M championship game, Will made his travel plans.

“So when they won the semis (against Ellington), I booked a flight, came out here,” Will Levis said following Hand’s CIAC Class M final Saturday. “I’m so happy for her.”
Will was at Rafferty Stadium to see top seed Hand defeat No. 2 Branford 14-7. It was the first state title for Hand.
Claire Levis finished the season with 78 goals, 29 assists and 129 draw controls, being named the SCC Player of the Year. and earning a spot on the GametimeCT First Team All-State. She closed her career with 222 goals, 93 assists, 315 points and 332 draw controls.

Hand coach Lindsey Carroll noted during the season that Claire has plenty of “God-given athletic talent and natural ability.” That’s something Will, 26, has known for quite some time.

In fact, he told Kentucky Kernel in 2021 that Claire, then in the eighth grade, would become the best athlete of the four siblings.
“Since she was a little kid, I knew she was going to be the best athlete of all of us and we got to see it come to fruition on the field today,” Will said. “I’m excited for the next part of her journey and we are going to be following her every step of the way.”
Claire, the youngest of the Levis’ siblings, competed in soccer, basketball, gymnastics and dance when she was younger. Will is the oldest, having played quarterback at Xavier, then at Penn State before transferring at Kentucky.
“She was able to learn from me and my sisters cause you’ve got to take everything we learned throughout our lives,” Will said. “We beat her up, we were competitive with her growing up and we knew she was going to be able to channel that and we saw from a young age how gifted she was and she was able to hone all those gifts and make something out of it.”

Claire had interest in Ivy League schools Princeton and Brown. She ended up choosing Vanderbilt to continue her lacrosse career.
“Not only was it prestigious and values high academics, but it had such a great women’s lacrosse team and so welcoming,” Levis told GametimeeCT during the season.
Vanderbilt is located in Nashville, which also has the Grand Ole Opry. Claire performed there with the school’s show choir called VIBE. Her interest in music was another reason why she attended there. The Tennessee Titans are located in Nashville, too, and Claire went to see Will play games there. But Claire said that proximity to her older brother didn;t factor into her decision.
“I think she thought about Vandy since before I even was drafted by the Titans (in 2023),” Will said. “Just knowing it’s a great school, great area, great program, that was a goal of hers and for her to achieve that was really cool and obviously, I could be there for the next few years and she will be there.”

Will said he is recovered from having “AC joint and rotator cuff reconstructive surgery” on his right throwing arm last July. That injury cost Will the entire 2025 season.
“I feel great,” Will said. He had a seven-month recovery, doing it in California. Then he had eight weeks of spring ball. “I feel really good.”
Levis is in the final season of his rookie contract. He is one of four quarterbacks on the depth chart, which includes Cam Ward, last year’s starter as a rookie, and veteran Mitch Trubisky.
Levis declined to talk about his status with the Titans. The club had mandatory mini-camp this week and training camp opens in July under new coach Robert Saleh.
