Ahead of the release of the College Football 27 video game, EA SPORTS has released the new game’s soundtrack.

And if you’re a college football fan, chances are you’re going to want to do exactly that.

What to Expect from College Football 27

College Football 27 from EA SPORTS is set to launch worldwide on July 9 (though eager gamers can score a week of early access by purchasing the MVP+ package before July 2).

This year’s cover features a powerhouse lineup, including Oregon quarterback Dante Moore, Indiana head coach Curt Cignetti, and Miami (Fla.) wideout Malachi Toney.

Players can expect overhauled gameplay mechanics, an all-new “Dynasty Blueprint” mode, and the return of a fan-favorite absurdity from the old days of the EA CFB game on previous consoles: the ability to play an 11-on-11 game entirely with mascots.

But beyond the on-field upgrades, prepare to be blown away by what’s coming out of the speakers.

Unique Takes on Familiar Songs

Nothing separates college football from the NFL quite like the music, and EA is leaning all the way into that pageantry this year. The soundtrack features marching band versions of nearly two dozen massive pop culture hits spanning the last few decades.

Whether you’re a fan of pop, rap, country, rock, or R&B, there’s a stadium anthem here to groove to while you guide your program to glory.

Headliners from the 1990s and 2000s include Metallica’s “Sad But True” and Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg’s “The Next Episode,” while more recent releases feature Morgan Wallen’s “Love Somebody,” Luke Combs’ “Back in the Saddle,” and Sabrina Carpenter’s “Tears.”

Except, those legendary acts aren’t actually the ones performing their hits.

Instead, the EA SPORTS Marching Band handles the honors, resulting in an eclectic, brass-heavy blend of sounds you won’t find anywhere else.

The lone exception to the rule is Metallica’s “Sad But True,” which is performed by the Carolina Band from the University of South Carolina. After winning Metallica’s national “For Whom the Band Tolls” competition, the Gamecocks’ marching band earned the right to record the track, alongside a brand-new version of the game’s “Campus Clash Theme.”

It’s not all new, though, and that’s not all bad: iconic stadium anthems by The White Stripes, Zombie Nation, and Fast Life Yungstaz will also be returning to the stadium rotation from previous editions.

Who is the EA SPORTS Marching Band?

According to press materials, the EA SPORTS Marching Band is an elite ensemble of 113 collegiate musicians, with members of Zach Bryan’s touring band making a special guest appearance.

Aside from reworking mainstream pop and rock tracks, the band recorded 25 new songs for the game. This includes marching band covers of classic themes from other iconic video game franchises (Battlefield, Mass Effect, Command & Conquer, and Madden NFL), alongside legendary college fight songs and thunderous drumline cadences.
