PARKER, Colo. \u2014 Pat Surtain II has Olympic dreams, even though in the past he\u2019s said he wants to play on offense<\/a> if he ever gets the chance to be a part of a flag-football team<\/a> in the quadrennial event.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s definitely high interest, because Olympics is a once in a lifetime opportunity,\u201d he said Monday night<\/a>.<\/p>\n

But it\u2019s also three years away. That\u2019s a lifetime in football terms.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, I don\u2019t know, we\u2019ll see how my body feels at 28,\u201d the reigning Defensive Player of the Year added.<\/p>\n

Surtain spoke just before a fundraising event for his foundation, \u201cA Night of Cars and Couture.\u201d Surtain\u2019s foundation is focused on creating educational opportunities and resources in STEM areas for disadvantaged students.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just want to give back in the right way because Denver showed me love right away from the jump,\u201d Surtain said. \u201cAs a rookie, I know what to expect. Obviously there\u2019s a lot of expectations on me, but Denver showed me a lot of love. And my point of it is just to give back to the community that showed love at first.<\/p>\n

So, this is my way of giving back.\u201d<\/p>\n

AS FOR THINGS FOR PAT SURTAIN II WITH THE BRONCOS THIS YEAR \u2026<\/p>\n

The two-time All-Pro comes back to work on a defense that was the target of most of the team\u2019s major offseason moves. Three of its four key free-agent pickups<\/a> were on the defensive side of the football, as was its first-round draft pick<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s great additions, to our team and towards our success, obviously, with Dre [Greenlaw] and [Talanoa] Hufanga, them guys gonna get after it,\u201d Surtain said. \u201cI mean, they\u2019ve been in Super Bowls before. They know how to win at a high level.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, adding those guys to the team, you know, it just look sharper on the horizon. So, I\u2019m looking forward to stepping on the field with them.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hufanga was among the teammates who supported Surtain at Monday night\u2019s event.<\/p>\n

Barron is a \u201cgreat addition,\u201d Surtain said \u2014 and one whose presence could eventually get more passes thrown his way as quarterbacks currently avoid throwing in his direction at all costs.<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, we\u2019ll see,\u201d Surtain said. \u201cAt the end of the day, you can only control what you can control.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut that involves me, you know, getting more attempts at the ball, making more plays then, can\u2019t be too mad at it.\u201d<\/p>\n
