HOUSTON (AP) \u2014 Houston receiver Nico Collins will miss Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals with a hamstring injury.<\/p>\n
Collins was injured during Wednesday’s practice and did not participate in practice Thursday or Friday before being ruled out.<\/p>\n
He had seven catches for 75 yards and a touchdown in Houston’s season-opening loss to Buffalo.<\/p>\n
Collins, who is in his sixth season, has had at least 1,000 yards receiving in each of the last three seasons.<\/p>\n
Offensive coordinator Nick Caley was asked how Houston’s game plan would be affected if Collins couldn’t play on Sunday before he was ruled out.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe good thing about the offense is we have a lot of guys that we have trust in,\u201d he said. “I would say this, that we go through our reads and the ball finds the open guys. C.J. (Stroud) does a good job distributing the football. I think you saw that last week. We have guys that have a lot of experience with them and have played a lot of football and we\u2019ll go through it like that.\u201d<\/p>\n
Stroud completed passes to 11 different players in the opener.<\/p>\n
Starting guard Ed Ingram, who has a groin injury, defensive end Jadeveon Clowney (knee) and linebacker Jake Hummel (groin), were also ruled out for the Texans on Friday.<\/p>\n
