Few know Matthew Stafford as well as one Giants assistant.\u00a0<\/p>\n

As the Giants look to slow down the Hall of Fame-caliber quarterback Monday night in Los Angeles, they have an inside scoop on him via wide receivers coach Chad Hall.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Hall is Stafford\u2019s brother-in-law \u2014 his sister, Kelly, is Stafford\u2019s wife. Both families are expected to be in attendance.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI get to see my nieces. It\u2019s good,\u201d Hall said before practice Friday. \u201cIn this business, it\u2019s hard to see family, especially for these seven months \u2014 it\u2019s seven days a week. So it\u2019s good to see family. But it\u2019s nothing more than that, we\u2019re both competitors, we\u2019re both out there trying to win.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Hall \u2014 who played four seasons in the league as a receiver \u2014 is in his second season as an assistant with the Giants, having served as the team\u2019s assistant quarterbacks coach last year. The Giants, The Post reported at the time, pursued a trade for Stafford last offseason<\/a> when his contract situation with the Rams was in flux and were willing to give him a lucrative extension. Stafford ended up signing a one-year, $55 million extension with the Rams while the Giants pivoted to the draft, where they took Jaxson Dart with the No. 25 pick.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cOf course, I wanted to bring the families together,\u201d Hall said when asked if he had a role in trying to woo Stafford. \u201cBut things happened how they happened. That was a fun couple of weeks.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Hall had a significant role aiding in Dart\u2019s development last year and is already garnering praise this year from the receiving corps.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s live,\u201d Malik Nabers said. \u201cHe\u2019s live. If you know, you know, if you don\u2019t, you don\u2019t. He\u2019s live, though. That\u2019s a good thing. It\u2019s a good thing.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Offensive passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach Brian Callahan will soon face his old Titans team \u2014 who fired him midway through last year before he finished his second season in charge \u2014 in Week 3. But he\u2019s solely focused on the Week 2 clash against the Rams.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cDon\u2019t think about them at all at the moment, to be honest,\u201d Callahan said. \u201cHave plenty on our plate to go get ready to play the Rams.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

His former quarterback, Cam Ward, last year\u2019s No. 1 overall pick, has been heavily criticized after a rough Week 1 showing against the Jets that followed an unconvincing rookie season.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI love Cam as a person and a player, I root for him,\u201d Callahan said. \u201cWhen we play him, I hope we do our part. I\u2019m fully focused on what we got, we got a tough game ahead of us and a lot of things we got to do well and we\u2019ll worry about that next week.\u2019\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n

Defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson was away from the team Friday while dealing with a family situation. He is expected to return Saturday.\u00a0<\/p>\n
