Starting off the week with a Niners victory never. Gets. Old. What a fun win. Brock Purdy is HOOPING. He\u2019s hitting spin moves, he\u2019s letting it rip, he looks really loose yet also dialed in at the same time. It looks like the game\u2019s slowing down for him. What a joy it is to have him as our quarterback.<\/p>\n

Now we wait for injury updates and hate-watch the Rams\u2026<\/p>\n

What Kyle Shanahan and others said after 49ers\u2019 35-13 win vs. Dolphins<\/a>
\u201cTrent Williams: It\u2019s hard for me to tell because I just see the ball coming over my head, but [Brock] was extremely accurate. He looked like he was just at practice out there, wheeling and dealing. Like I said, we\u2019re starting to witness Brock\u2019s prime and I think it\u2019s going to be a sight to behold. To me, I\u2019ve always loved Brock, but I think he\u2019s starting to get his respect now. He doesn\u2019t even relish in it. It\u2019s all about next week, going 1-0, and that\u2019s why he\u2019s a great leader.\u201d<\/p>\n

Brock Purdy was nearly perfect in the 49ers\u2019 blowout win over the Dolphins<\/a>
\u201cConnor Colby was the only one to allow pressure on the quarterback, and it took 2.76 seconds to get there. Every other offensive lineman had a clean sheet in the first half; Purdy was 7-for-8, while the rushing attack had a 50% success rate. The offense was still humming, and they picked up where they left off to begin the second half.\u201d<\/p>\n

Brock Purdy keeps 49ers rolling with \u2018MVP\u2019 game vs. Dolphins<\/a>
\u201cJust two weeks into the season, it\u2019s far too early for any sweeping award declarations, but Purdy\u2019s performance against the rebuilding Dolphins on Sunday was so close to perfect that Warner wanted the world to know he sees where Purdy could go in his fifth NFL season.<\/p>\n

\u201cBrock is unbelievable,\u201d Warner said. \u201cI\u2019ve spoken on how great of a preseason he had and his camp, his command of the offense, but it\u2019s different. We get judged on those three hours that we\u2019re out there. For him to be operating the offense the way he is right now, it doesn\u2019t matter who the other pieces are. As long as Brock\u2019s the one that\u2019s being the point guard, I know we\u2019re good.\u201d<\/p>\n

49ers lose another WR as Demarcus Robinson suffers ankle injury<\/a>
\u201cRobinson favored his right ankle as he quickly hobbled to the medical tent on the Niners\u2019 sideline. A few moments later, Robinson was placed on a cart and taken to the locker room. The 49ers initially designated Robinson as questionable to return but ruled him out at halftime.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 49ers knew it was coming, and they still had a difficult time stopping it.<\/p>\n

Running back De\u2019Von Achane, the NFL\u2019s fifth-leading rusher last season, got fed the ball a lot in the first half. The Dolphins challenged the 49ers to stop the run, and San Francisco\u2019s run defense did not rise to the challenge.<\/p>\n

As a result, the 49ers\u2019 defense could not get off the field in the first half. Miami\u2019s three offensive possessions resulted in drives of eight plays, 16 plays and 11 plays.\u201d<\/p>\n

Shanahan said they\u2019ve already had contact with Leonard Floyd, a solid contributor on the 2024 49ers, who would qualify as a moderate option. There are other medium options. And as noted, there are a few potential star possibilities.<\/p>\n

What I sense from this team is that it believes every addition could be meaningful through December and into January and maybe February.<\/p>\n

Cohn: Grading the 49ers After Their 35-13 Win Over the Miami Dolphins<\/a>
\u201cPurdy clearly has improved from last season and is firmly in the MVP conversation after two games\u2026[Kittle] looks so much better than last week, when he clearly was rusty. Once Kittle got involved, the passing game couldn\u2019t be stopped\u2026..[the offensive line] is still the weakest link of the offense, and that won\u2019t change. Last week was an aberration against a team that wasn\u2019t prepared\u2026.The 49ers need to add a quality defensive tackle immediately. This is the biggest weakness on the defense\u2026.On offense, Kyle Shanahan called a near-perfect game for the second week in a row. And when he had a 29-point lead in the fourth quarter, he actually pulled his starters instead of padding their stats. Who is this Kyle Shanahan? Has he finally grown up? If so, the 49ers just might win the Super Bowl this season. He always has been simultaneously their biggest asset and their biggest liability, considering he\u2019s the reason they reach the Super Bowl and the reason they lose it.
